1st Tuesdays, 6 – 7:30 pm | 3rd Saturdays, 10:30 am – Noon

(check calendar for exceptions)

This is a 90-min bimonthly class for basic beginner through intermediate practitioners. We focus on physical aspects of yoga that can prepare the body for sitting practice and relieve pain that can arise, and the experience of energy (prana/chi) movement. Participants learn safe alignment, how to use props normally found in a zen center, and multiple poses to work through 3-planes of motion in shoulders, hips, spine, and deeper awareness. Suggested donation is $15 per class on a drop-in basis (PayPal, cash, or check accepted). Preregistration not required. Taught by CZC Abbot Emeritus Annie Weisbrod, who has practiced yoga for 3 decades and is a certified yoga, fitness, and health coach (eRYT-500, ACE).

Dr. Bob Kohl is an osteopathic physician, bodyworker, and Zen teacher in the Furnace Mountain Sangha. He will be teaching his Selfunwinding process for using movement and awareness to facilitate rediscovery of our function as an integrated, embodied whole.

The interactive format will emphasize our natural ability to move and express ourselves from our deepest and most honest selves, connecting sensation, emotion, and movement within our bodies. We will share the intention to turn within, exploring this thinking, feeling, moving creature we call a human being.

When we move from our authentic thoughts, emotions, and history, we begin to naturally heal. Participants may find greater freedom from tension, chronic pain, and physical and emotional discomfort as a result.

Participants should dress for comfortable movement. There will be a 1-hour lunch break, during which participants can brown-bag or dine locally. Suggested donation $80. REGISTER HERE

See selfunwinding.com for more info about Dr. Bob’s approach.

Myo Wol has studied with Zen Master Dae Gak since the inception of the CZC in 1994. In 2008 he received Inka (permission to teach), becoming Resident Teacher. His interest is the activity of manifesting original nature right in the midst of the challenge, heartbreak, and unbounded joy of daily life.

Previous experience sitting with the CZC or Furnace Mountain Sangha is recommended, or equivalent experience.

Suggested donation is $90. If this donation presents a hardship, please email us—we have scholarships available.

As you most likely already know, we vacated our Price Hill location and have been operating virtually since early pandemic days, meeting on Zoom at 9 am Sunday mornings.

We have started testing a temporary space for resuming in-person sitting and are now opening the invitation to a broader group.

In this phase, we won’t update the CZC website with a full public announcement, but are letting friends on our email list and who follow us on Facebook know about it.

So consider yourself invited to. . .
