Event Details:

We have reserved this date (November 4th at 1 pm) for our Sacred Connections guests for an event at ICGC called ‘Know Your Neighbor’ Tour.

The ICGC is an “open” Center, where Muslims can worship, learn and gather socially. They also welcome their neighbors, friends and colleagues of all faiths to come and learn about Islam and get to know their fellow Americans who are Muslim and their commitment to community and service.

The presentation and tour will last close to two hours.  When visiting the Center, it is requested that women wear slacks or long skirts, long-sleeved shirts and bring a scarf to cover their heads with when entering the main Mosque. Men are also requested to wear slacks and sleeved shirts.  A $2 per person suggested donation is requested.

Register HERE.

Shoulder to Shoulder is a national multifaith coalition of religious denominations and faith-based organizations who are committed to ending anti-Muslim hatred, discrimination, and violence in the United States of America.

For several years, throughout the holy month of Ramadan, Shoulder to Shoulder has organized public iftars, evening meals to break the Ramadan fast. These meals are open to the public and provide opportunities to build community across faith traditions and with muslim friends and neighbors.

To learn more about this initiative, register to host an iftar, or learn where you can join an iftar in person or virtually, visit this website.

Join Shoulder to Shoulder in a conversation with Amanda Tyler, Executive Director of the Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty (BJC) to explore and unpack what Christian nationalism is, what it has to do with anti-Muslim discrimination, and what we can do about it.

As a Christian herself, Amanda will share why she believes her fellow Christians must engage on this issue and she’ll share insight and practical tips for educating and mobilizing faith communities on this issue, including lessons learned through her leadership of the Christians Against Christian Nationalism initiative. BJC is a national partner of the Shoulder and Shoulder campaign coalition and Amanda serves as a Shoulder to Shoulder Steering Committee member. Learn more about Amanda here.
