In these presentations, Imogene Drummond will share how her growing awareness of our integral connection with the Universe influenced the development of her art in diverse media, including film, video installation, and an educational program that combines Self-worth, Creativity, and the Cosmos.

Imogene Drummond, M.F.A., M.S.W., A.C.S.W., is an internationally collected painter, award-winning filmmaker, artist/educator, and former psychotherapist. Her experience, talent, and vision converge in Art Sparks. Her article “Options for the Future”; is the closing piece in the thought-provoking anthology The Rule of Mars (KIT, 2006) which was endorsed by Pulitzer Prize-winning scientist and author Jared Diamond. Due to her painting expeditions around the world, Drummond was invited to join the Society of Woman Geographers whose membership includes explorers of ideas as well as geography, among them Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, and Jane Goodall.

We are now accepting proposals for panel discussions, interactive workshops, and short talks, as well as field trips and community events for the day after the conference. The events in and around Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville, TX in January 2022 could have been another story about the prejudice and deep division in our society – instead, out of the trauma and fear emerged a story of a community united. A foundational lesson that calls to us from that recent – and further off – history: how do we build supportive, resilient, and diverse communities? Join religious leaders from Dallas, TX who disagree on fundamental and consequential things yet have been investing in mutually inspiring relationships for years. In the face of the Beth Israel synagogue hostage crisis in January 2022 those relationships helped a hurting community confront prejudice and division. Come away inspired, with tools to start or deepen your own relationships across diverse communities and with new connections to a growing global network.

This conversation, moderated by IFYC, will include Dimitry Anselme from Facing History and Ourselves, Rev. Dr. Bob Roberts, Jr., Adena Cytron-Walker, and Imam Dr. Omar Suleiman.

The Freedom Center is giving you an opportunity to engage virtually with the internationally renowned artist and ask questions about her work, her process, her inspiration and more.

Lukova’s exhibition Designing Justice, on display now at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, features a portfolio of works that address themes of income inequality, immigration, war and peace, the environment and more. The exhibition proves that the power of art is the power to transform, inspiring you to be a force for good in the world.

The Designing Justice exhibition is open at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center through March 22.
