SUMMARY:Connected Communities Town Hall Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Last year Cincinnati City Council passed a series of policies called “Connected Communities” aimed at updating our city zoning codes to make it easier to develop housing. While many of the policies seem to be successful\, a lot was left to be desired in making progress for affordable housing. Council then convened citizen committees to propose amendments that would make Connected Communities better. Those changes will be introduced at a town hall meeting in February. \nConnected Communities Town Hall Meeting\nSaturday\, February 15\n12:00 – 3:00 PM\nHamilton County Community Action Agency\n1740 Langdon Farm Road\, Cincinnati\, OH 45237

SUMMARY:3-Part Docuseries: Race and Racism in Cincinnati (Registration Required)
DESCRIPTION:Race and Racism in Cincinnati\, a 3-part docuseries\, is the telling of Cincinnati’s history from the racial margins\, a history that is not often told in school curriculums or in mainstream (white) culture. \nThis video series shares a people’s history that places storytelling authority in the hands of common people\, rather than political leaders or other figure or power who have crafted narratives to benefit their agenda. \nThis series features three separate hour-long videos that each tackle a different time span\, starting from Cincinnati’s birth and bringing us to the present day. Each viewing will be followed by a discussion session. \nWinter 2025 Virtual Screening:\nPart 1: Friday\, February 14\nPart 2: Friday\, February 21\nPart 3: Friday\, February 28\n12:00 – 2:00 PM\nVirtual – Zoom (register below)
