SUMMARY:Sacred Spaces\, Safe Spaces: Bridging faith and mental health
DESCRIPTION:Sacred Spaces\, Safe Spaces: Bridging Faith and Mental Health is an interactive workshop designed to help faith leaders\, laypersons\, chaplains\, and community organizers support individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. Grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI)\, this session will equip participants with skills to validate emotions while encouraging meaningful change\, navigate difficult conversations with empathy\, and recognize when professional intervention is necessary. Through role-playing exercises and real-world case studies\, attendees will practice distress tolerance strategies\, strengthen their ability to support those in crisis\, and learn how to guide individuals toward professional care while maintaining a safe and compassionate faith-based environment. This workshop is made possible by a generous grant from the McCullough-Hyde Foundation and the Interfaith Center’s “Building Healthy Communities: Strategies and Resources for Faith Communities” project. \n  \n  \nREGISTER HERE

SUMMARY:Help Shape Southwest Ohio’s  Future in Food Scrap Recovery
DESCRIPTION:Hamilton County Resource is excited about the opportunity to meet in person with leaders from faith community organizations in Hamilton and surrounding counties. They want to know if houses of worship would like to partner in their new\, green\, waste reduction project to divert residential and commercial food scraps from the landfill. To achieve this\, Hamilton County Resource is initiating a regional approach to composting infrastructure with locations across the counties along with conveniently located facilities to boost participation from residents and businesses. They welcome involvement of houses of worship and other organizations to participate as public-private composting facilities throughout the region. Your participation and input are vital to the success of this initiative. \nThere are many preliminary evaluations and approvals necessary to identify sites that will be explained the in-person March 5th meeting. \nTo gain a better understanding of the project\, how they got to this point\, and what’s next\, PLEASE watch the 30-minute webinar from February 12th \nhttps://zoom.us/rec/share/2dBMV70b995FrRRc5zWg5aqnmbJAHw10ZqPXucC84b-89856BSwceJGlONaomXaT.6LsmDbIGIxU2gVTW?startTime=1739379711000 \nPasscode: ^=&J%ge1 \nRegister HERE to attend.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nREGISTER HERE TO ATTEND  MARCH 5th\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nfor the in-person meeting \, \nMarch 5th at 1:00pm – 2:30pm in the Hamilton County Resource Conference Room \non 250 Taft Road. \nFor more information or questions please text FCGG Composting Event Coordinator\, Donna Turner\, 513-226-3107

SUMMARY:Connected Communities Town Hall Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Last year Cincinnati City Council passed a series of policies called “Connected Communities” aimed at updating our city zoning codes to make it easier to develop housing. While many of the policies seem to be successful\, a lot was left to be desired in making progress for affordable housing. Council then convened citizen committees to propose amendments that would make Connected Communities better. Those changes will be introduced at a town hall meeting in February. \nConnected Communities Town Hall Meeting\nSaturday\, February 15\n12:00 – 3:00 PM\nHamilton County Community Action Agency\n1740 Langdon Farm Road\, Cincinnati\, OH 45237
