The Bob Maxwell Peace Builder Award recipients are distinguished by giving public witness to justice issues to bring about peace. They have contributed to building understanding\, collaboration\, and trust in Greater Cincinnati\, while holding the belief that peace is possible. \n2025 Ignite Peace Youth Justice Award\nIgnite Peace is excited to present the 2025 Ignite Peace Youth Justice Award. This award will be given to a club\, group\, or extracurricular program of high school students who have made a dedicated effort to promote justice in Greater Cincinnati. The winner will receive the award as part of Ignite Peace’s Annual Gathering in the fall of 2025 (date TBD). In addition to the recognition\, a $500 award will be given to the group. \nWe will be accepting nominations until June 29\, 2024 at 11:59 PM.

DESCRIPTION:Sacred Spaces\, Safe Spaces: Bridging Faith and Mental Health is an interactive workshop designed to help faith leaders\, laypersons\, chaplains\, and community organizers support individuals facing mental health and addiction challenges. Grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI)\, this session will equip participants with skills to validate emotions while encouraging meaningful change\, navigate difficult conversations with empathy\, and recognize when professional intervention is necessary. Through role-playing exercises and real-world case studies\, attendees will practice distress tolerance strategies\, strengthen their ability to support those in crisis\, and learn how to guide individuals toward professional care while maintaining a safe and compassionate faith-based environment. They want to know if houses of worship would like to partner in their new\, green\, waste reduction project to divert residential and commercial food scraps from the landfill. To achieve this\, Hamilton County Resource is initiating a regional approach to composting infrastructure with locations across the counties along with conveniently located facilities to boost participation from residents and businesses. They welcome involvement of houses of worship and other organizations to participate as public-private composting facilities throughout the region.
