The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is hoping to increase awareness and action against human trafficking with its new exhibition Motel X. \nCincinnati sits on one of the worst highways for human trafficking in the United States. I-75 provides an easy pipeline for traffickers to transport people thousands of miles through multiple states. Many people are unaware of the practical knowledge that could help prevent human trafficking and possibly save victims. Designed by local filmmaker Christine Marque specifically for display at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center\, Motel X hopes to evoke an empathetic link to practical knowledge\, give people the opportunity to fight against the atrocity of human trafficking and give survivors a platform to share their stories. \nMotel X is an interactive motel for guests to explore. As they walk through the motel door\, through the room\, guests encounter the story of a teenage girl forced into sex slavery by human traffickers. Exiting the room and entering the bathroom\, guests are introduced to an immigrant worker inadvertently caught up in trafficking humans. Throughout the exhibition clues reveal warning signs\, statistics and actions that can help combat human trafficking. Interactive clues include audio tracks\, dressers with items of clothing that reveal information when moved and a bedside Bible that\, when opened\, reveals stark facts about human trafficking. DESCRIPTION:Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week from February 1-7\, 2020 \nThe United Religions Initiative is excited to celebrate United Nations World Interfaith Harmony Week (WIHW). This celebration happens in early 2020 so now is the time to start planning (if you haven’t already!) \nWorld Interfaith Harmony Week is a week-long celebration that promotes dialogue among people of different traditions to create mutual understanding\, cooperation\, and harmony. \nIn addition to WIHW being a great time to celebrate these aims with like-minded people all around the world\, H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan also offers three cash prizes ($25\,000\, $15\,000 and $5\,000) for events that celebrate the week. \nThe World Interfaith Harmony Week\nAnnual UN Observance Week: Feb. 1-7 \nThe World Interfaith Harmony Week was first proposed at the UN General Assembly on September 23\, 2010 by H.M. King Abdullah II of Jordan. Just under a month later\, on October 20\, 2010\, it was unanimously adopted by the UN and henceforth the first week of February will be observed as a World Interfaith Harmony Week. \nThe World Interfaith Harmony Week is based on the pioneering work of The Common Word initiative. This initiative\, which started in 2007\, called for Muslim and Christian leaders to engage in a dialogue based on two common fundamental religious Commandments; Love of God\, and Love of the Neighbour\, without nevertheless compromising any of their own religious tenets. The Two commandments are at the heart of the three Monotheistic religions and therefore provide the most solid theological ground possible. \nThe World Interfaith Harmony Week extends the Two Commandments by adding ‘Love of the Good\, and Love of the Neighbour’. This formula includes all people of goodwill. It includes those of other faiths\, and those with no faith. \nThe World Interfaith Harmony Week provides a platform—one week in a year—when all interfaith groups and other groups of goodwill can show the world what a powerful movement they are. The thousands of events organized by these groups often go unnoticed not only by the general public\, but also by other groups themselves. This week will allow for these groups to become aware of each other and strengthen the movement by building ties and avoiding duplicating each others’ efforts.
