The quick\, trembling brushwork and erasure of layers of paint in his disquieting landscapes and compelling biblical works express the psychological and physical intensity of war and its aftermath. His art has a powerful resonance as we seek to strengthen the empathy and mutual responsibility linking North American Jewry and the people of Israel. Griffin’s paintings\, forged in the crisis of war\, convey the human capacity for healing and hope for a peaceful future for Israel and humankind. \nOn View: March 5 – May 10\, 2026 \nHours: Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.; Sundays 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. \nAdmission: Free \n  URL:https://interfaithcincy.org/event/sam-griffin-aftermath/ LOCATION:Skirball Museum ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://interfaithcincy.org/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/unnamed-1.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/New_York:20260423T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/New_York:20260423T203000 DTSTAMP:20260425T113758 CREATED:20260329T194107Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260329T194107Z UID:6203-1776970800-1776976200@interfaithcincy.org SUMMARY:Celebrating the Seven African American Candidates for Sainthood DESCRIPTION:Were you aware that there are seven African American candidates for canonization? The lives of these holy men and women span the nearly the entire existence of the United States as an independent nation—from Pierre Toussaint\, born in 1766\, through Thea Bowman\, who died in 1990. It will be a truly thrilling day when we celebrate the canonization of the first African American saint! \nTo grow awareness of the lives of the Saintly Seven over the coming months\, the Archdiocesan Anti-Racism Task Force is organizing seven sessions throughout the Archdiocese to talk about their lives\, their causes for canonization\, and the experience of Black Catholics in this nation. The sessions will be in-person and live-streamed so that everyone can join in the conversation and reflection. In conjunction with the presentations\, each candidate will be featured in the Catholic Telegraph as well. The series will conclude in November\, Black Catholic History Month—reminding us that a single month is not sufficient to honor the contributions that Black Catholics have made to our Church and our nation since before its founding. \nFor information on the series\, please check out this webpage. It will be updated regularly as information becomes available. \n\nThe first presentation will be on Venerable Pierre Toussaint on Thursday\, April 23 at St. Susanna Parish in Mason at 7:00pm.\nThe second presentation will be on Venerable Mother Mary Lange on Saturday\, May 30\, at Province House of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur.\nThe third presentation will be on Venerable Fr. August Tolton on Monday\, June 29.\n\nAll are welcome to join\, and you can one or as many as you’re able. This is where I want to spend some time today. \nThe Interfaith Harmony Camp has succeeded for over a decade only because people like you support it in so many different ways. While financial donations are necessary and incredibly helpful\, that is only one way to support this amazing camp. \nWill you please take a moment to read through the following list and let me know if you would be willing to help us with camp this summer? \n\n\nRegister your youth: Talk to your 6th–12th grader and register your tween or teen today at www.friendsforgoodcincy.org. \n\n\nSpread the word: Take 10 minutes to brainstorm any 6th–12th grade students you know\, then forward the attached flyer and registration link to them! \n\n\nVolunteer for a day: Join us for one day at camp to help ensure everything runs smoothly and safely. \n\n\nSponsor a lunch: You can reimburse us for catering\, or even prepare a meal for the kids yourself. \n\n\nDonate healthy snacks: This year\, we are focusing on healthy\, wholesome snacks. Does this inspire you? Help us make it happen! \n\n\nLocation scouting: While we have several groups ready to host\, you might know the perfect spot for 2026. Let us know your recommendations! \n\n\nShare your story: Do you have a faith story you’d like to share with the youth? Let me know and we can work on it together. \n\n\nPost flyers: Put up a flyer at your local grocery store\, library\, or coffee shop. Let me know how many you need and I’ll get them to you. \n\n\nGrant research: Help us find small grants ($250–$1\,000) that we can apply for to help cover scholarships for camp. \n\n\nMedia outreach: Write a press release for us to send to local media for further coverage. \n\n\nSay a prayer: Don’t have the energy or time to help out this year? No worries! Please send some good spiritual vibes our way! \n\n\nAs you can see\, there are a myriad of ways to get involved. Please consider one or two and let me know! This camp would not be a decade strong without the amazing help of volunteers who believe in our vision of bringing people together across lines of difference for the greater good. Each day\, camp moves to a new location so participants can learn about the religion and culture of that particular space. Previous host sites in the past have been The Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati\, Adath Israel Congregation\, Bethan Adam Congregation\, St. Barnabas Episcopal Church\, Knox Presbyterian Church\, The Bahá’í Center of Cincinnati\, The Third Way Peace Fellowship\, ish\, and others. \nParticipants learn about other practices and cultures\, play a lot of games\, and get to know others from different walks of life. This camp is not about solving world problems or overcoming huge differences. Rather\, it is about developing the leadership qualities of deep listening\, empathy\, and awareness. Religion? Listening? Awareness? This might not sound like the most exciting summer camp\, but just ask the students that participate. No doubt\, they will tell you that they love being at Interfaith Harmony Camp. It is a fun way to make new friends and eat amazing snacks in the process. \nScholarship & Camp Fee\nIf you would like a scholarship\, simply pay what you can or what you think is reasonable. There are no forms to fill out. We trust you and our priority is to ensure every student who wants to participate is able to! \nEarly bird suggested price is $150 before June 1st and $250 after. Partial and full scholarships are available with no questions asked. \nVisit their website to learn more.
