The Spiritual Side of Yoga: From Asana to Awakening

How does the practice of yoga poses evolve from physical exercise to spiritual experience? Join our panel of teachers from a variety of yoga traditions as they share with us the deep and rich teachings that allow ordinary practitioners to have meaningful and often life-changing experiences through yoga.

ABOUT THE PANELISTS:

Ramdas Ormond has engaged in some form of meditation for 44 years and yoga for 20. His guru, Yogi Amrit Desai, recognized him as a Senior Teacher of the Lineage in October 2017. Ramdas shares what he has received through the Amrit Yoga Institute in Florida, Bhakti House in Utah and around the world both in person and online.

Shyam and Mohini are the co-directors of the Yoga Warehouse, an award-winning Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center in Fort Lauderdale which they founded in 1998 so they could dedicate themselves to studying and teaching the full range of Yogic practices. As instructors in the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Courses and Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Courses, they have helped to train and certify hundreds of teachers in Classical Hatha Yoga.

Ramesh Bjonnes is the Director of the Prama Wellness Center where a lifestyle of plant-based food, yoga, and meditation is considered our best preventive medicine. Ramesh is also a writer, yogi and workshop leader. He studied yoga therapy in Nepal and India, Ayurveda at California College of Ayurveda and is a certified yoga detox therapist from the AM Wellness Center in Cebu, Philippines. He is on the faculty of Embodied Philosophy, has taught workshops in many countries, and is the author of five books, including A Brief History of Yoga (InnerWorld), Sacred Body, Sacred Spirit (InnerWorld) and Tantra: The Yoga of Love and Awakening (Hay House India).
