Climate Leader Monet Stansbury will bring us up to date on the latest global efforts to combat climate change. She will focus on the upcoming United Nations meeting in Glasgow and how it will modernize the Paris Climate Accords to bring nations together in this global fight. She will also bring a local context to the discussion as she looks at lessons from the documentary film “From Paris to Pittsburgh” and shares how its discoveries can infom our strategic actions here in the Cincinnati region.

Rabbi Meredith Kahan will add to the discussion by illustrating how our actions will fulfill Jewish learning and values.

The United Nations has scheduled a conference in Glasgow, Scotland from October 31-November 12, so this topic will be in the News.

This presentation will inform us why the United Nations has organized 26 international climate conferences. What can we as a congregation or as individuals do to support this important work? Our speaker, Monet Stansbury, trained under Al Gore through his international program on training teachers to spread this knowledge.

Optional: we invite you to watch the film “From Paris to Pittsburgh” at your convenience, for additional background information. Watching the interesting documentary is not necessary to understand or follow the presentation.
